Alicia Cole

Actress and author Alicia Cole was recently chosen from a wide field of competition to anchor a series of TV commercials produced by the State of California’s 5 a Day’ Nutrition Campaign taking aim at Childhood Obesity.

In the popular television spot, Cole plays a doctor, who is on the “Front lines” of childhood obesity.   “Dr. Cole” can be seen on billboards on just about every other block throughout the state.  And in case you drive too fast and miss them, there is also a huge Radio Campaign.

No stranger to the TV medical field, Alicia played a nurse in her early days on Silk Stalkings and had a recurring nurse role on Beverly Hills 90210.  Most recently she has been seen on the UPN favorites  ‘Eve’ and  ‘Veronica Mars’, in addition to national commercials for Prilosec and KFC.

Apart from her work on television, she has represented a myriad of companies such as Lexus, Toyota, the US Navy, and JC Penney as a Host and Spokesperson in Corporate Industrial and Training Films.

Ms. Cole’s background includes behind-the-scenes experience as the Production Coordinator for Tricom Film & Video Productions in San Diego. Under the guidance of Director Dan Sparks she learned everything from script-supervising to adding titles on the ‘character generator’. During that time she established herself as an independent Casting Director, casting low-budget films, local commercials, industrials and training films for companies like Jack-In-The-Box, Taco Bell and Rohr Aerospace Technologies.

Transitioning from the San Diego market to Los Angeles, Alicia worked as a Casting Assistant to Iris Grossman, then Senior Vice-President of Talent and Casting at TNT and President of Women In Film.  One of her many fond memories of working with Ms. Grossman was being among those thanked in her Artios Award acceptance speech for casting the television movie George Wallacestarring Gary Sinise and Angelina Jolie.

Alicia is the Founder and President of The Actor’s Resource, an educational networking organization for actors that recently awarded its first Teen Actor’s Scholarship to the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute.  The Actor’s Resource publishes the Los Angeles Actor’s SpeedDial and the San Diego Actor's Resource - a comprehensive guide for actors who want to use the San Diego venue to gain experience and build a foundation before heading to Los Angeles.

In her random moments of spare time Alicia enjoys walking and annually participates in the Revlon Run/Walk for Women and the AidsWalk LA.  In 1999, she successfully completed the 26.2 mile LA Marathon and raised over $1,500 in support pledges for her church, West Angeles.

Miss Cole graduated from The Ohio State University with a BA in Pre-Law Communication and minors in Criminology, Education and Spanish.
